I am going to be hosting a Designer Barn Sale at my still-pretty-new-very-old-house in Roxbury, Connecticut on August 22-23.
I am doing the sale in collaboration with my long-time friend Tom Luciano – who co-founded the now well-known antique store Historical Materialism in NYC before moving to a fabulous storefront in Hudson for many years. Between the 2 of us there are many exciting pieces in the sale – everything from seating, floor lamps and table lamps, artwork, cabinets, iron pieces, ceramics, tables, antique textiles, and curiosities.
If you’re going to be in Litchfield County the weekend of the 22nd — or would like to plan to come for the sale, you can follow this link to email me for more details and for the address and directions. I certainly hope to see some familiar faces — and to make some new friends.
Here are a few of the many items that will be available for purchase;
A PAIR OF BRASS URNS, A KLISMOS BENCH, AND A 19TH CENTURY CAPTAINS CHAIR
A DRIP GLAZED TABLE LAMP, A HALL COAT-RACK/MIRROR, AND A PAIR OF BRONZE AND IRON CHAIRS
SOME OF THE MANY GREEN AMERICAN MID-CENTURY CERAMICS, PAIR OF MASSIVE BRASS URNS AND VINTAGE IRON FLOOR LAMP
VERY LARGE c.1920 EWER, AND LOUNGE CHAIR WITH OAK TRIM
ADIRONDACK TWIG STAND
EXAMPLES OF CURIOSITIES INCLUDING AN LARGE ANTIQUE JUG, POUNDED COPPER VESSEL WITH TWO HANDLES, AND AN AFRICAN BASKET AND MASK; CAST IRON URN WITH REMOVABLE LID

.
That’s just a small assortment of what’s going to be available — it’s a rather large barn — and it’s full to capacity (and spilling out onto the lawn!)
I hope to see you there!
Need directions from New York City — here’s a map link, and if you’re already in Connecticut — here’s a map link if you’re near Roxbury.
